Song Of The Week

I'm excited to announce that this week's Song Of The Week is also PM's Premiere of the finalized version of UK singer Leona Lewis's newest track, "Collide," from her forthcoming yet-to-be titled third studio album.

The track is a dance-pop song that heavily samples Avicii's "Penguin." I wasn't too sure about the track after my first listen, but subsequent spins saw me falling hard for the song. Leona's voice soars over an amazingly beautifully produced track. I haven't been this in love with a song since David Guetta and Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over." The song is very reminiscent of Katy Perry's hit single "Firework."

"Collide" will be officially released on September 4th. The track is so wonderful that I hope the date gets pushed up though. I've always been a fan of Leona Lewis and am really loving this sound for her. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for this go-round.

Leona's third studio album is due for release some time in November.

Eminem - Space Bound [Music Video]

We now have the official music video for Eminem's "Space Bound." I love it. Check it out.

"Recovery" is in stores now.

Estelle featuring Rick Ross - Break My Heart [Music Video]

It's been a while since I've heard from singer Estelle. So imagine my surprise when I logged onto my computer today and saw that she had a new music video featuring rapper Rick Ross. I had no clue that these two even had a song together. So the first time I watched the video ended up being the first time I've heard the song. It's a really nice track that has an old school vibe to it. I'm into Estelle's new direction. I'm going to have to do more research about what she's been up to as of late. Check out the video. It's really good.

Jennifer Hudson - No One Gonna Love You [Music Video]

"No One Gonna Love You" is the official second single from Jennifer Hudson's sophomore album, "I Remember Me." This is a nice follow up to the previous single, "Where You At."

In the video, Jen continues to show us that she deserved that Oscar. LOL. She puts her acting skills to use anytime she can and I love it. This video was a nice surprise for me. Jen is really stepping her game up. She even does a bit of choreography in the video. She wasn't full out dancing or anything, but it was still nice to see her do something new. There is no denying how talented this woman is.

"I Remember Me" is in stores now. Make sure you pick up a copy. Don't forget to keep coming back to PremiereMusick for all of the newest music and entertainment news.

David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat (Official Album Cover)

DJ David Guetta has released the artwork for his fifth album, "Nothing But The Beat." Guetta has stated that the sound of the new album was inspired by rock bands like Coldplay and Kings Of Leon. We can expect to hear features from Akon, will.i.am, Timbaland, Dev, Ne-Yo, Britney Spears, Ludacris, Taio Cruz, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson and Sia.

I was absolutely in love with "One Love" so I'm really looking forward to this release. I wasn't really a big fan of the first single from this album, the Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj assisted "Where Them Girls At," but it's slowly starting to grow on me. The second single, "Little Bad Girl," which features Taio Cruz and Ludacris, is set to be released on June 28, 2011.

Nothing But The Beat hits stores August 30, 2011.

Rick Ross featuring Lil Wayne - 9 Piece (Director's Cut) (Explicit) [Music Video]

Check out Rick Ross's new music video, "9 Piece," which features Lil Wayne. The video is very cinematic.

Rick Ross's album "God Forgives, I Don't" is expected some time in August.

Selena Gomez & The Scene - Love You Like A Love Song [Music Video]

This worked out perfect. LOL. "Love You Like A Love Song" started our week off as this week's Song Of The Week. And now as our week comes to a close we have the video premiere for the single. The video itself is cute, but... Eh! Just check it out for yourself.

PM Flashback Friday: Amerie - 1 Thing

PM Flashback Friday

Six years later and this song still gets me up and out of my seat and jumping around all over the place. LOL. That's why I've chosen Amerie's "1 Thing" as this week's PM Flashback Friday song. It's the first single from Amerie's second studio album, the aptly titled "Touch."

Amerie endured a long uphill battle before the Rich Harrison track was able to see the light of day. According to Harrison, they wrote and finished the song in two to three hours. Amerie's management felt that "1 Thing" was the song to release as the lead single from a new album. However, her label, Columbia/Sony Urban, disagreed. They wanted the choruses to be bigger and for more music to be added to the track. Both Amerie and Harrison thought that adding more would do nothing but overpower the song. Each and every time they would submit a new version of the song to the label, they were told that the song sounded unfinished. Six months after recording the track, Amerie and Harrison leaked the song to radio, hoping to get it released officially. The response was amazing. The track began to get airplay all across the country. Columbia tried to keep the song underwraps because Jennifer Lopez, another artist on the label, wanted to record it for her album "Rebirth." Radio stations refused to pull the record and Columbia soon started promoting the song as an official single. Thankfully, J. Lo settled for another Harrison track, the Usher leftover "Get Right."

I love the sound of the big band drums and horns. And I love how Amerie utilizes her voice as an instrument, singing in her upper range and cooing aggressively over the hot beat.

The song still remains Amerie's biggest hit to date, earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 2006 Grammy Awards. She lost to Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together."

Let's take a trip down memory lane. Do you have any listening experiences associated with "1 Thing?" Can you remember where you were when you've heard the song played in the past?

Can you believe it's already been 10 years since Ms. Keys first broke onto the scene with her debut studio album "Songs in A Minor?" To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album, Alicia had decided to release both Deluxe and Collector's editions of the album. The two disc Deluxe Edition includes the original album as well as a second disc with previously unreleased songs and a few rarities. This enhanced album also features "A Harlem Love Story," the story behind the inspiration for the videos Fallin' and A Woman's Worth, narrated by Alicia Keys. The three disc Collector's Edition features all the songs included on the Deluxe Edition as well as more unreleased tracks and an exclusive bonus DVD. Alicia Keys is one of my favorite artists so I can hardly contain my excitement about the 10th Anniversary Edition of this album.

The 10th Anniversary Edition of "Songs in A Minor" will be available worldwide June 28, 2011.
